After a long and agonizing 3 month wait, I finally received the call that my Native Slayer 13 Propel was ready to be picked up. I had never tried one or really looked it over, so I was nervous if it would suit my needs. From first glance it was more than I could ever ask for, from the adjustable sliding seat to the new and improved drive system.

Slayer-1

Having been a previous owner of the Native Ultimate Propel and not a fan of the drive system, this new drive was amazing. Much more comfortable pedaling position and very smooth.

The rigging options are endless, with the slide track system all over the kayak. They didn’t leave the need for additional rigging mounts to be added.

With all the optional equipment that can be purchased for use with the Propel such as the First class seat organizer, First class seat pack and the battery bag, they left no screw un-tightened.

Once I was able to get the Propel in the water, I realized what all the hype was about. This is the best kayak I have ever had the chance to fish. The stability was amazing, equal if not better then the Hobie Pro Angler 14, but easier to control and very fast. Tracking while pedaling was very straight and turn was very responsive. I would recommend taking a ride to your local Native dealer and taking a demo in the Slayer Propel.

Nice rig ,but not as efficient as the Hobie pro angler 14 and certainly not more stable.
