LAVAL, QUEBEC – For anglers, there is nothing more enjoyable than spending an afternoon skimming across a quiet lake or river, casting your lines in search of that next great catch. Fishing enthusiasts looking to dabble in kayak fishing have always had to settle for recreational kayaks that have been repurposed for fishing through the addition of a few quick fishing oriented accessories. Now, thanks to Pelican, that’s no longer the case.

Pelican’s new Sentinel 100X Angler: Big adventure for the newest anglers

“The Sentinel 100X Angler didn’t get transformed into a fishing kayak; it was born a fishing kayak. Designed from the ground up with one purpose in mind—becoming your partner on your next fishing adventure. Designed by Pelican’s own design team, with feedback from the fishing industry, the Sentinel 100X Angler is a highly functional sit-on-top kayak that is designed to provide a stable fishing experience while providing all the storage and accessories anglers will find most convenient.

The Sentinel 100X Angler measures 9 feet-6 inches and guarantees a stable experience through its specially designed Multi Chine Flat Bottom hull. Its nimble length still provides the tracking and straightness one would expect from a longer kayak.

This kayak won’t be available until 2019, so we’re not sure what will all be available with the kayak. Perhaps reaching out to Pelican could answer those questions for you.

Good call. Just sent them an email asking the questions below. I’ll keep everyone posted.

        1. Can you stand up?
        2. Is there landing gear?
        3. Will my Hobie Mirage drive fit into the pelican? If so, what is the price without the drive?
        4. If Mirage Drive will not fit, will there be a drive made by pelican that includes reverse?

Here are the answers I got

The new catch 130 HyDryve will have a limited manufactures lifetime warranty on the hull of the kayak. All parts and accessories will be covered for 1 year. The warranty on the pedal drive system has yet to be determined.

We never recommend standing in any of our kayaks, however like the catch 120 this kayak will be very stable. The kayak will not be sold without the drive system however the Hobie drive does fit into our kayak. The kayak does not have a reverse function however if the pedal driver is removed and installed backwards it can revers
