The completely redesigned, Helios 2.0 from MTI Adventurewear is a great PFD for people who want a low profile, lightweight PFD and don’t want to wear a big bulky vest out on the water.
Completely redesigned for 2015 for a more improved fit, the Helios 2.0 did not disappoint. It has a longer stole shape and the comfortable V-Yoke make it a perfect fit for a kayaker out on the water. The Helios 2.0 has a 3D mesh lining, a padded neoprene neck, a zippered front pocket storage, back DCAS for strobe light or net, and a reflective trim giving good visibility at night. It includes a signal whistle, which is convenient since they are required by state regulations, and it includes the bayonet style CO2 cylinder.
This type of PFD (inflatable) is also great for women. It allows extra room in the chest area and does feel constricted in anyway. I was able to paddle my kayak easily and for most of the day, I forgot I was even wearing it. The Helios is easily adjustable and can fit a wide range of body types- which was a great selling point for me personally, simply because I am not a petite person and it was nice to find a great looking, and great performing PFD that fit correctly and was comfortable. The new women’s color way that MTI has recently launched is really amazing and compliments the way a women likes to look out on the water. Who says you cant look good out on the water.
I would definitely recommend this PFD to men and women, especially the kayak and SUP anglers out there who need the low profile type PFD. The Helios 2.0 is lightweight, comfortable, and compact. It provides complete freedom of movement for paddling, fishing or other watersport activities. MSRP $134.99
